Razina Akhter serving as Head of Library at Bangladesh Shishu (Children) Academy since 4 March 1996. On 2010 she was invited by the State Department of United States of America to join IVLP (International Visitor Leadership Program) Scholarship. That time she visited number of libraries, prominent Universities and Government Institutions of USA. Library for Development is her passion. There are some great passions of her professional linkage – reading promotion, local community service through library, multicultural library services for special needs, rights of the child, early reading (3-5 years) planning and implements, implementing and monitoring different GO /NGO/INGO’s activities on child rights. Writing is another passion of her and have 30 articles in national and international journals. She is practicing knowledge management, leadership & life skills development activities among children and young –adults through library movement. Currently she is serving as Standing Committee (SC) member of the Children and Young-Adults section (CY & A) of International Federation of Library Association (IFLA). She is also member of American Library Association (ALA) since 2010. Razina has some contribution as Information Scientist, such as – Book donation campaign for street children, early reading for kids (age group 3-5), National level quiz, debate, speech contest, and Inter library relationship program, Excursion program for underprivileged children and outreach program for excluded children. Razina is Senior Vice President of Bangladesh Associations of Librarians, Information Scientist and Documentalist (BALID) and Life Member of Library Association of Bangladesh (LAB). She loves to reading, travelling and build up interpersonal relationship, and also have keen interest in listening to music & watching movie.
